Way back in the time of slavery, throughout history, slavery was practiced from the African tribes to the European slave masters. The slaves were none other than the Africans themselves. Through countless struggles the Africans eventually pulled through and slavery was abolished. However after, the abolition of slavery, are the African Americans really free from their past? Even though there aren’t any physical chains that bind them, they may still be in slavery through mental slavery. Black people have gone from being bounded by chains to being bounded by society.
