Under the corporate slogan of "To spread happiness across the globe by providing unforgettable experiences", SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. is a company involved in numerous projects, including the development of a variety of games which include universally-known epics, through to distributing a mixture of media which utilizes the company's intellectual properties. SQUARE ENIX Co., Ltd. delivers all manner of content and services to customers with diverse lifestyles and preferences throughout Japan and across the globe. Square Enix is a global video game developer, publisher and distributor most famous for creating FINAL FANTASY®, DRAGON QUEST® and TOMB RAIDER®. History analysis  Square Enix did not start out as one company under this name. Actually, it started as two separate ones. Enix began on September 22nd, 1975 as a company that published games mostly made by other developers. It had a large team. At this time, Enix was most famous for publishing Dragon Quest in 1986 for the Famicom. Enix continued to publish games for both Sony and Nintendo, which helped the company expand and grow as its stocks

continued to rise. By 1999, Enix was considered a large and successful game company based on its stocks, and it was doing very well for itself independently.  In 2000, Enix and Square began to consider merging into one company.  On November 25th, 2002, Enix and Square announced that they would go forth with the merge. Both companies were at their height, and it seemed like the best timing to work together at long last. On April 1st, 2003, Square Enix was finally created.  The modern company everyone knows as Square Enix is actually two divisions called Square Enix Holdings. Co. Ltd., the name it took in October 2008. While developing and producing video games remains the company’s main role, it’s also taken ownership of a few other things as well.  In 2009, Square Enix purchased the company Eidos and has been using it to publish games in Europe along with Square Enix Europe. Amongst the better-known titles, it has published are Tomb Raider, Hitman, and Deus Ex. Whereas the company might be best known for its Japanese role-playing games, it certainly isn’t limited to only them. Square Enix is much bigger than just Final Fantasy.

Central Problem

Lack of innovation and efficiency on the company’s overall growth and development.

IV. Objectives A. Must 1. To look for new developmental platforms which can maximize the usage and availability of their newly produced games. 2. To ensure that their corporate philosophy is maintained and in line with current strategies implemented by the company. B. Want 1. To strengthen its status as one of the gaming industry's most influential game developers. 2. To innovate production on different gaming platforms and to further develop marketing strategies. V. SWOT Analysis A. Internal factors a. Strengths 1. Strong franchise. The number of Square Enix franchises might have been deemed amazing. They have Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, for starters, and of course you can not forget the Dragon Quest 2. Multiplatform. As we all know, for the Handheld and Console, Square Enix has published their games on multiplatform. 3. Great designs and stories on their games supporting it. 4. Software Square Enix is not only good at story making, but they are also using their own game engine to create their title. b. Weakness 1. The company's failure to develop and pursue new types of games to optimize its assets. 2. The business is not ambitious enough to search for much higher profit goals on various types of games. B. Alternative courses of action

ACA1 Expand and innovate on different strategies on the overall operation of the business, since one of their franchises is at its peak, they should stick with that franchise (Final fantasy) but find ways to Improve that franchise but maintain its credibility in the gaming industry. They should consider creating mini games and spin-offs that is based on that franchise that will serve to the satisfaction to its fans. By creating different genres and games to it but maintaining the uniqueness and great story telling of the franchise. Advantage(s): By showing their flexibility in making new games to please their customers, this will give them the ability to show the people that their company will explore various facets of the games they create by having the same franchise with various vibes. And this can contribute to increased revenue and growth in the industry in the long run. Disadvantage(s): By receiving various reviews, the use of the same name with different genre of the game will lead to unsatisfactory die-hard fans of the game. And the game can lose its nature and peculiarity to other games and competitors. This can also contribute to the franchise's demise if they concentrate more on developing new titles, rather than sticking to and innovating one series. ACA2 Strategic management must be performed on the quality assurance measures of Square Enix as various games are created that can contribute to the growth and development of the business. And shift their attention on the company image rather than launching a game that has no effect whatsoever on the fans or customers. Advantage(s): In strategic management, it involves the plans of each division and a plan as a whole, as well as crucial decision-making, reducing all recruiting and removing jobs, giving workers the opportunity to open up their ideas that could benefit the company, watching every cost of its money and making wise use of it, and making correct rules and regulations in each division of the business. Disadvantage(s): It will take time and resources to adjust to the tremendous change and it will affect every branch across the world.

ACA3 Collaborating with other companies who can improve their overall gaming output, extend the company's reach to allow them to leverage other channels for the games they are launching. And making them spend not only in activities related to gaming but also on other investments. Such as smartphone brands, toy brands and other items that will please their fans. Advantage(s): This would persuade holders of other companies and stakeholders to trust Square Enix because of the additional benefits they earn on the different brands they partner with. As this proper investment use will lead to improved brand management, effectiveness and efficiency. Disadvantage(s): High risks include managing diverse and dynamic companies with various kinds of industry, expense risks and time involved in evaluating other business proposals, huge money is at risk depending on the actions of the client and other industries in which they partner.
