The writer raised some interesting cases to draw the definition of urban legend that the documentation of a phenomenon of oral culture out, he quoted the theorists of Ong and Mcluhan to prove CMC shows elements of oral as well as textual communication. Jan claimed that urban legend is within cyberspace while the use of CMC is considered as a power for the promotion of many society aspects. Than move to the second part of this article which talked about another aspect of urban legends: popular cultural texts. In this part, the write use a large amount of references as well. The article indicates the features of urban legends ( a kinds folktale )which make it recognizable, and the performance of these features. What’s more, mediated legends exhibit the characteristics linked with oral folklore. On the contrary, the ubiquity of mass-mediated sources would lessen the wish for give and receive legends. The writer gives an example of the trouble caused by international conversation. This example shows that media sources quoted changed posts cause the exchange. Jan argues that, we always tend to consider legends as developing from the past world, however they still survive in the media and the cyberspace. The author also said that media technology has brought humankind into the age of “secondary orality” , and talk about the features of it , he than references to some other author’s arguments to prove it. Than move on to the forth part: CYBERSPACE AS A SITE FOR ORALCULYURE. Urban legends in cyberspace are performed and transmitted in textual form through CMC. People asked many questions about that. The

author raised the opinions of other writers to answer these questions, he also have a large amount of references in this part, which are distinctly oral. Some scholars argue that online communicative structures create a kind of culture which is neither oral nor literatures, others says that it is conceived and composed textually but contains features of orality. Finally ,the conclusion of this article is ,oral and literate is a continuum modes, their impact is still amorphous. The proliferation of urban legends online indicates that cyberspace can be a locus for main oral cultures....
