I. Experiments The CHEMISTRY 124 LABORATORY SCHEDULE provides a list of dates for experiments It can be accessed on the course Moodle page or on the Departmental Web Page (www.southeastern.edu/academics). The GENERAL CHEMISTRY LAB 124 MANUAL is to be purchased at the University Bookstore. Students must purchase a copy of the laboratory manual by the second class meeting, or they will not be allowed to participated in laboratory activities. II. Lab Reports Except when explicitly stated, a written report is required for each experiment. The lab report is due at the beginning of the subsequent lab period. Format of the lab report varies according to experiment, and will be detailed by the professor. III. Assessment Quizzes will be given at the beginning of each laboratory period. No quiz grade will be dropped. Quizzes begin promptly at the beginning of the lab period, and last only the first ten to fifteen minutes of class. If you come in late, you can have any allotted time left to take the quiz. If you come in after the quiz is completed, your grade for that quiz is zero. In addition to the quizzes, there is a cumulative 100-point mid-term examination, covering the first five laboratories, and a 100-point final examination covering the remainder of lab. IV. Grading The course grade is determined as follows: Lab Reports Quizzes 25% 25% based on the percentage of total points obtained: 400-360 pts (90-100%) A

319-280 pts (70-79%) C

Midterm 25%

279-240 pts (60-69%) D

Final 25%
