Student – Instructor Interaction / Feedback
Video-taping of the lectures No video-taping or taping of the lectures or the professor are permitted without her/his explicit agreement and written permission.
Self-directed learning (outside class-time): It is strongly advised that students read the chapter prior to attending the weekly lecture, and also bring a copy of the power-point slides for the relevant chapter to write additional notes. The more a student participates by sharing general and/or regional examples, opinions and experiences the more the class will be enjoyable and beneficial to all. Therefore, students are required to read the assigned material before it is presented in class. This includes the chapter in the textbook, and also the learning tools available such as readings, books, websites, or the activities on the Student CD which comes with the textbook.
Cheating is an infraction of the rules and regulations of UM. If you are ever in doubt as to whether or not a particular activity is cheating – conclude that it is. A tougher anti‐cheating policy will be applied in the department as department head will be recommending a category F (fail the course) penalty for any student who is referred to him/her in a cheating case and has been found guilty of cheating.
Students are encouraged to contact the instructor during office hours or via email. In order to gather feedback for future course improvements, suggestions, comments and concerns regarding any aspect of this course will gladly be accepted, at any time during the semester. In addition, a formal course evaluation will be administered at the end of the semester.
