TEN QUALITIES AS A RESEARCH STUDENT Being a research student I believe I possess following qualities which help me in accomplishing my research projects: 1. Commitment A researcher in my point of view cannot accomplish his task until he/she has a high level of commitment with his work. Since research projects may not necessarily finish within the time framework therefore a research student must be committed to his work. I am always committed to complete my work under any kind of circumstances. 2. Analytical mind I always believe in analytical approach and avoid jumping on the conclusions without using the analytical approach. Analytical approach is an integral part of research and therefore a researcher must have an analytical mind. 3. Knowledge of the topic/project It is my habit to explore the research topic extensively. This helps me in chalking out my research plan for a project easily. If a topic has not been explored at the start it may create complications at the later stages of research. 4. Self-confidence As a researcher I am always confident about the research I carry out and able to defend the findings of my study. This is due to the fact that I carry out each and every step of research with utmost care and dedication which instills confidence in me. 5. In-depth observation A research without observation is futile exercise. Being a researcher I believe in observation and its implications. Observation ultimately leads to a good research and hence I utilize my quality of in-depth observation in my research. 6. Intellectual curiosity As a researcher I am always curious. I ask questions and do not get satisfied until I have found my answer. This approach benefits me a lot as I get knowledge about new topics and clarity in my research and studies. 7. Tolerance to criticism I believe that the criticism often results in refining of the research. I carefully analyze the criticism made on my assignments or researches and try to refine my research accordingly if possible. I never react adversely to the criticism even if it has been made without any concrete justifications.

8. Originality and genuineness I always believe in new and original work. Reinventing the wheel should not be the motive of researcher. I try to find out new topics that have been less explored. Moreover I produce my own work instead of copying from other sources. 9. Passion for knowledge As a researcher I have the desire for knowledge. Learning is a never ending process and a good researcher must have a passion for knowledge to learn. I believe that my passion for knowledge helps me a lot in my ongoing as well as future research projects. 10. Active I am quite active while doing a research or a project. Resource gathering, data collection etc., require an active approach. A research is probably going to suffer or get delay if researcher shows a lethargic attitude. Hence I am very concerned in this regard and actively complete my research requirements....
