Quality and Innovation- Tesla’s main focus has been its product quality. The firm is popular for its premium vehicles. It sells three car models including Model 3, Model S, and Model X. Tesla has continued to advance the existing models through current updates and technology. The company’s focus on innovation has generated some of the best electric cars worldwide.



Brand equity- Tesla’s strong brand equity has allowed it to have higher sales. The firm focuses on product quality and user experience and this has contributed to its brand equity and trust for customers.

Weaknesses 

Limited presence- Tesla sells Electric vehicles and cars only limiting its portfolio as compared to other firms such as Audi, BMW, Toyota, and Volkswagen. This limited presence inhibits its growth beyond the USA and China, two of its leading markets.



High operational cost- Tesla’s operational cost is increasing each year. In 2018, it increased its investment in growth and research. Tesla is also working on increasing its products, network, and developing its dealer.

Opportunities 

Sustainable trends- the need for sustainable products among consumers has led to an increase in demand for electric vehicles and cars and other items that use sustainable energy. This a good sign for Tesla and it shows that its sales will increase due to high

Autonomous driving technology- Tesla's autopilot features offer software updates on its electric cars for the convenience and safety of the drivers. Cars with autopilot technology are becoming popular over time.

Threats 

Government regulations- automotive brands are facing government regulations worldwide. The implementation of government regulations has affected the market expansion for Tesla. They are a barrier to the firm's Robotaxi strategy.



Competitive pressure- Tesla is facing intense completion for other premium brands such as SUV, BMW, Audi, and other sports cars. This has slowed down its growth and it has to focus on marketing.
