The Struggles in The Brooke Ellison Story Thesis: With the help of family, Brooke Ellison was able to overcome any challenge in order to succeed in her scholar years. I.

In seventh grade, Brooke, was struck by a car while walking home, which, left her paralyzed. A. Brook was declared in a coma and believed she was brain dead due to intense damages to the neck. B. After several days, Brooke started to open her eyes when doctors believed she could never wake up. C. Brooke was scheduled for surgery in order to remove the haloe and place a permanent plate in her spine.

Six weeks later, Brooke was sent to rehab in order to cope with her disability. A. Jean Ellison, Brooke's mom, was her caregiver throughout the process and was approved by Brookes doctor to become her legal caregiver in order to return back to school. B. Brooke and Jean started to build a strong bond in order to work together throughout school years.

C. Jean helped in school by raising her hand, holding up a calculator, flipped pages in a book and accompanied Brooke to every class in order to help Brooke graduate. III.

Brooke was able to graduate high school and soon after, received a letter from

Harvard University to apply, thanks to Jeans help. A. Brooke applied and attended Harvard University with her mom, Jean, at her side every moment. B. It took Brooke and her mom four years to graduate Harvard University and throughout the journey, Brooke never lost hope and continued to achieve her goals....
