Description

The chief executive officer of Creative Toys, Inc., read about cooperation in Japanese companies and vowed to bring this same philosophy to the company. The goal is to avoid all conflict, so that employees would work cooperatively and be happier at Creative Toys. Discuss the merits and limitations of the CEO’s policy. I believe there is a benefit to look at other companies to see what is working in their favor. With that said, not all companies can benefit with the same dynamics. Even throughout the United States, something that can work in California may not work in Wisconsin. Local cultures and commonalities play a large role in what can be beneficial. Now take the details from another country with a completely different culture and society values, one may be asking for more conflict than less. To avoid all conflict seems to very difficult to achieve as well as not in the best interest for the growth of a company. Conflict can be positive and negative and both can work in the favor of the company. “Conflict” is the process in which one party perceives that its interests are being opposed or negatively affected by another party (McShane & Von Glinow 2016).
