The Great Depression Webquest An Internet WebQuest on Great Depression Introduction There are many different ways to analyze the Great Depression. In this WebQuest you will use four different analytical perspectives: social, cultural, political, and economic. This will broaden your knowledge of this historical event, which affected millions of people. The Process and Resources In this WebQuest, you will explore four analytical perspectives of the Great Depression: social, political, economical, and cultural. You will familiarize yourself with the topic by using the links provided under each category. Follow these steps to get the most out of the Quest: 1. Skim Chapter 8, familiarize yourself with the general information in these sections. This will provide an overview of the Great Depression, before you begin studying various perspectives. Visit the timeline links to see the “big picture”. 2. Complete each graphic organizer that corresponds with its perspective using the links provided. Be sure to provide support (specific information) from the links on your graphic organizers. 3. Choose your assessment format and become the expert! Background Use the following links to learn about the background or “big picture” of the Great Depression. Before you begin your work, you should visit the following websites. This will introduce you to the different perspectives. Look at the timelines to get a sense of important events and presidential administrations preceding the crisis. Choose 8 events between 1929 and 1932 and 8 events between 1933 and 1941. Print/Create 2 timeline graphic organizers.
