The moment before the gun went off – tasks 1) Van der Vyver was a man who took care of his closest. I got an impression that he was a clever man. 2) That he was special and shy as a kid, who usually was by him self. 3) 4) That Van der Vyver actually was his father. 5) They have a good relationship. We get to know that when the writer tells us about Van der Vyver and the black farmers relationship. 6) I think it was strange, because why would someone be outside a car while it is driving? But the reason why is probably because of Lucas skin color. 7) In my opinion, I think that the girl signalizes to Marias that it was his fault, by not looking at him and just staring at the grave. She was probably also shocked and confused about the horrific accident. 8) 9) 10) It changes the whole perspective of the story.
