The Road Not Taken

“The Road Not Taken” Essay Robert Frost was an eminent American poet from the 20th century, who with his particular style, wrote about various topics such as life, the countryside of the US, mysteries of nature, and the human hearts. One of his most important poems, “The Road Not Taken” is usually a subject of analysis in literature because of the ambiguity it has. By looking at this poem, Robert Frost demonstrates the relationship between human hearts, in this case the traveler, and the mystery of the roads ahead. As the character takes a decision on which road to take, this is a symbolism to what we can learn or lose changing our lifestyles.

In the second line of the first stanza of the poem, we can see a common situation in the lives of people, when they have to choose between two paths “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both”. It is really difficult for people to measure the advantages or disadvantages of a decision when they look similar, so the only way of realizing them is by choosing one. Reach the fork is one of the several symbolistic that Frost used to express how it is hard can be able walk around two decisions. It allows readers to use their imaginations and is also easy to identify with the everyday life of each one.

As a result, this election can affect a person, perhaps forever. Frost wrote “Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both” this wanted to refer that no matter the way in as we will call a decision, the less traveled is really just like the previous road.
