Description

After completing the Rokeach value assessment survey, it showed that my major terminal values were salvation, wisdom, a world at peace, an exciting life, freedom, inner harmony, true friendship, and equality. My major instrumental values were independent, ambitious, intellectual, loving, loyal, courageous, clean, forgiving, obedient, honest, polite, and responsible. The terminal values are valid predictors of career success in the workplace because, for the terminal value salvation, the Bible says in (Matthew 8:36, KJV) “For what shall profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul”? I take that scripture in the Bible very seriously for my life personally because we can gain all the money, careers, houses, cars, friends, relationships, materialistic things, and lose our soul. I do believe in beliefs and personal values, but God is my priority in my life. Once a person has received salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ they will be loyal, conscious leaders, servant leaders, honest, obedient, loyal, humble, and caring in the workplace. Also, when a person dies, they cannot take the money, houses, cars, materialistic things, friends, family, and careers with them to their grave site. That is the major problem is that society received a quality education, they forgot to put God first, they died, and they did not take any materialistic things with them to eternity.

My personal values fit with the values of my organization because if my Resume did not meet the employer’s expectations with my employer, I would not be working at my organization. A person’s values should align with that of their organization because without their personal values not fitting with their organization they would not qualify for the place at the organization. Moreover, many organizations ask for a Resume and look for specific words in the Resume that meets what they are looking for in a potential employee. An organization is not interested in your personal values, but they want to hire you if you can do the job that they are hiring for and if you are unique from other potential employees. The question in interviews from organizations is what makes you unique from other employees for this place that you are applying for.

My terminal and instrumental has an impact on my sense of belongingness/fit for my organization because once I adapt to my terminal and instrumental values I will work hard at my organization and I would know what my purpose is and how to do my job well at my organization. Values come with people being sensitive to the feelings of others. Once a person goes through trials, they will be a great asset to an organization....
