When travelling to Svalbard, there remains a requirement in place to obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to departure from the Norwegian mainland. However, this does not apply to those who can document that they are permanent residents of Svalbard, or are otherwise able to present a COVID-19 certificate demonstrating that they meet specific requirements in terms of vaccination or a recent COVID-19 infection. All people arriving in Svalbard must still take a SARS-CoV-2 test within 24 hours of their arrival.
