Unit 1 Lesson 4 Assignment

The job I choose to look at is a social media manager. This is a job I'm very interested in due to the fact that social media is only growing and won't be going away anytime soon. I don't have any specific places I want to work so my question will be based off of any social media manager jobs.

BACKGROUND

1) What did you major in college? 2) Did this major prepare you for your job 3) Is there any other major or minor you wish you had chosen to prepare you for your job. 4) Did you do an internship to prepare you for this job.

Now that I know about your background, I would like to learn more about your DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1) What is a typical day like for you? 2) How many hours per week do you work? 3) Do you supervise anyone if so how many? 4) What percent of time is spent on the telephone? 5) What percent of time is spent on social media? 6) What is the most challenging part of your job? 7) What do you like the most about your job? 8) What do you like the least about your job? 9) What is the most boring part of your job? 10)What is the most frustrating part of your job? 11)What problems do you face every day? 12) Is this the job you wanted while in college?

13)How do you prepare for your job each day? TRANSITION: The duties and responsibilities are definitely interesting. I would now like to know about the interview process at this company. 1) Were you prepared for the interveiw? 2) How is the interview process handled (one person or a group interview)? 3) Do you use pre-employment tests? 4) Which tests do you use? 5) Do you notice many younger girls intervening? 6) If you were to hire someone today what responsibilities would that person have? 7) What qualities do you look for in a candidate? 8) Do you look for specific skills? 9) Is a college degree needed If so what majors do you prefer? 10)What does the training period with your company involve? 11)What are some questions that an applicant can expect at an interview with your company? 12)Is there a question that your company believes is the most important? 13)Is there a question that your company believes is the most revealing about an applicant? EVALUATION AND COMPENSATION TRANSITION: Since you have your own business your evaluation and compensation are based solely upon your performance but please tell me how you would evaluate an employee of 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7)

What criteria do you use? What entry-level salary can one expect with Media Mix? In five years what salary can one expect? What does the benefit package with Media Mix include? What insurance is included? Is there vacation time? Are there continuing education benefits?

CONCLUSION AND FUTURE OF THE JOB The information you have provided has been very helpful I have just two more questions about your profession. 1) What advice do you have to offer to a person coming into a profession like yours?

2) Is there anything more you would like to add that would help me understand your job as a business owner of Media Mix? 3) Is there anything you wish you knew about this career before starting it?...
