Introduction to Basic SearchesSearch Engine-

Internet Etiquette-

Netiquette- refers to the rules of etiquette that apply to online communication *If you wouldn't do/say it in real life, don't say it on the Internet* Netiquette Rules for Discussion Boards-

1. Before asking a question, check to see if it has already been asked or answered 2. Stay on topic 3. Don’t type in all caps- we’re not screaming 4. Don't write anything that sounds angry or sarcastic, even as a joke, peers may misinterpret it 5. Remember to say please and thank you when soliciting help from classmates 6. Respect others’ opinions 7. If you reply to a question, make sure your information is 100% accurate 8. If you ask a question, and receive many responses, summarize all the answers and post it to benefit the whole class 9. Be brief 10. Don't badmouth others or call them stupid, Don't mock your peers 11. If you refer to something a classmate said, quote just a few lines from their post so others won't have to go back and figure out which post you are referring to 12. Before asking a question, check the FQA’s or search the web to see if it is easy to find 13. Check the most recent comments before replying to an older thread to see if a topic has already been resolved 14. Be Forgiving of mistakes 15. Run a spelling and grammar check before submitting your thread Bad Netiquette         
