Notice what goes on within you and without you. Requirements 1. Have beginner’s mind. Do not plan your future; do not contemplate your past. Do not daydream. Be in the present. 2. You must DO NOTHING. Do not do waiting. Do not do people-watching. Do not do observing. Do not do loitering. Do not do sight-seeing. Do not do relaxing. Do nothing. But do it standing. 3. You must actually DO the exercise. You must not imagine that you have done the exercise, and then write about what it might be like. You must DO the exercise. 4. Do it for 10 minutes. The 10-minute time frame is absolutely mandatory for this experiment. It takes time to adjust. Do it for 10 minutes. Not 9, 8, 7, or 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 5. Write up your results in 2-3 typed double-spaced pages, due in 2 days (R 1/12). • Integrate McGrane’s chapters 1-2 for context and analysis (see reader). • Use quotes and page numbers, create a bibliography, 5% of your grade....
