Navigating the Online Environment Template This reference guide is designed to help you be successful during your academic journey. Once you fill in the missing spaces, you will be able to use this information to access resources in the future. Review the GCU Mission and Vision, Doctrinal Statement, University Snapshot, and Christian Identity and Heritage. Links for these items can be located using the provided links inside the classroom by clicking on Dashboard>>Path>>Topic 1>>Study Materials. After you reviewed each resource explain how you think each resource will affect your education and experience at GCU. Resource GCU Mission and Vision Doctrinal Statement
University Snapshot
Christian Identity and Heritage
Explanation I chose GCU because of its deep roots as a Christian University. The Christ centered curriculum and core values of the University will better equip me in getting my degree.
The Doctrinal Statement is very similar to the Statement of Faith that I and our church believe in. It is the foundation that Christians today should live by. The University Snapshot is a great page I can go to when looking for information about the campus, University growth, campus events, sports and a message from the President. Looking at the Christian Identity and Heritage page will serve as a reminder to me that I made the right choice in a university to continue my education.

Describe the purpose of each of the following forums in this course: Discussion Question, Private Forum, Questions to Instructor Forum, and the Class Wall. Forum Type Discussion Question
Private Forum
Questions to Instructor Forum Class Wall
Purpose The discussion questions are posted 2 times a week. They are used to show understanding of the material covered and to see how the class can respond to each other’s views on the lessons. The private forum is used to communicate privately with your instructor or classmates. This should be used to discuss items like grades and individual questions with your instructor. This forum is not private, everyone in class can see and respond to the questions. The video refers to it like “you are raising your hand in class”. The class wall is a place for you to post your personal bio and get to know your classmates and instructor.
