Description

Utopia, Book II: Summary Utopia, Book II: 81 - 85 Raphael believes Utopia to be the greatest social order in the world. -

No man worries about food, wealth, etc.

Other societies deal with pride but pride causes men to measure their welfare not by their well-being, but by having things that others lack, which is irrational and un-Christian. Only in Utopia has pride and all its attendant vices been eviscerated from society. More thinks that many of the aspects of Utopia are ridiculous - especially communal living. Raphael is exhausted after all that talking so he doesn't fight him on it. More thinks there are some good aspects about Utopian life but is skeptical that they will ever show up in Europe....
