Description

VIVA VOCE How have you utilised the structures of a narrative to accurately represent your personal experiences?  The utilisation of the narrative accurately represented my personal experience by creating a little girl and telling her story of growing up within the struggles of a middle eastern country. Being a middle eastern girl, I have interpreted children’s voice through the struggles of a little girl growing up in a war zone. I have used symbolism throughout my whole narrative including the name of my character Hadaya meaning gift in Arabic. This explores the different identities and their importance within society and establishing the importance of each human’s existence. In Arabian culture a baby is known to be a gift of god.  Used my voice as the authors voice and my past experiences (give example)  Growing up middle eastern my father always told me to be tough…. He was still always aware of the surroundings and wants to keep my family safe because all he had was family  I used third person in order for the reader not only to experience Hydaya’s story but form an understanding of every child at wars story because when a human reads short stories and novels about children empathy is always derive empathy  It shapes their identity and their urge of wanting to be part of the solution by being involved within charities and help

Explain how your narrative has been influenced by ONE text studied in class?  From the film lion influenced me because of the character that has been formed to create awareness of the struggles conveying poverty  The structure of the narrative being that his back story has to be told first than further explaining what happened …  The social structure of children being killed or not taken care of which is shown in lion….  Perspective…. Discuss the aspects of Australian norms challenged by and or represented d in your writing.  The aspects that is challenged by Australian norms is the dominant culture og children being cared of in Australia people always having empathy where in Syria children been killed or homeless and told to be quiet after they cry to visit their dead mother which is an everyday experience  Purpose to get a voice out there Reflect on the process of composition, outlining the difficulties you encountered in crafting your writing and how you overcame them.  Respecting the stories of the children whilst telling their story  Telling the back story of Hydaya  Drafts  Asking questions...
