Week 2 Short Responses – Question 1 What types  of primary and secondary sources will you need to use to support the topic you are examining in your essay? You don't need the actual sources yet, but you should have an idea of what they might be (such as an eyewitness account of an event, for example).

I believe the primary sources I will need to support my topic I am examining in my essay will be basically about what was the first reasoning about why the busing took place, to begin with? Were certain communities feeling left out based off of how education differed within other races? I would need to find out what enraged white people from the North to have so much hatred for black children trying to pursue an education. I am so used to hearing about racial issues in the south so when you hear it took place up north it's definitely an eye-opener and shocker. I know discrimination takes place everywhere, some places more than others. Week 2 Short Responses – Question 2 What are two or three keywords you could use to look for sources to answer this question?

I believe the two keywords I could use to look for sources to answer this question would be ''Brooklyn Bridge'' as well as ''Irish Immigrants''. I chose those two keywords because those are the words that I would get the most information on. The Irish Immigrants building the Brooklyn Bridge and how it affected the development of the NYC construction industry, could have been simply by the immigrants taking American jobs. Week 2 Short Responses – Question 3 What subject terms can you use to continue your search?

The subject terms I could use to continue my search would be: Communes and NYC Labor Wages between Immigrant and Non-Immigrant in NYC Things that would help me determine why it was so significant on getting the tunnels and buildings built. Week 2 Short Responses – Question 4

When you search for "construction," you get a lot of extraneous answers. What [?]Boolean operators[/?] and corresponding search terms could you use to narrow your search?

Boolean operators and corresponding search terms I could use to narrow down my search would be: Construction and Irish Immigrants The Brooklyn Bridge and Irish Immigrants Construction and (a certain type of underwater tunnels) or Construction w/ Compressed air workers However, I would definitely try to search my terms connecting to the time within the Irish Immigrant time frame in NYC....
