In what ways are these expectations similar to or different from expectations you have observed in other contexts, such as workplace, personal, or journalistic writing? You might use observations from your reading about Jonah Lehrer in addition to personal experience in your response.

1. As I understand them, sources in a college paper should be a mix of direct quotes, paraphrasing, and one’s own ideas blended into the paper. All sources should be credible to some extent, mixing scholarly and non-scholarly sources to capture all points of view. When quoting, one should be sure to use quotation marks and use an intext citation directly after the quote, and when paraphrasing, use one’s own words to rewrite the author’s thoughts, and use an in-text citation directly after. 2. I believe that all journal authors should clearly state their sources, both in-text and in a work cited entry after the conclusion. It is crucial to give credit to all sources. In the military, we always source all information to where we found it. Whether it is a DoD instruction or a Navy instruction, it is important to source where information comes from so readers can look back at the original information for further context. Sources are also used to back up an original idea. If you introduce an opinion or analysis and then use a quote with a citation to back it up, it creates a more credible and concrete thought....
