Description

What is iterative incremental development? Why is it useful for developing new products? The scope of the project evolves over time through a series of incremental iterations . Each iteration is a mini-project with the goal of creating workable product which satisfies one or more product features. At the end of each iteration the product is demonstrated to various stakeholders and adjustments are made. Each new iteration assumes the work of previous iterations and adds new capabilities to the evolving product. Three important advantages of IID have for creating new products are: Continuous integration, verification, and validation of the evolving product. Frequent demonstration of progress which increases the likelihood that the end product will satisfy customer needs. Early detection of defects and problems. What similarities and differences exist between a traditional project manager and a scrum master?

Differences 1. The Scrum Master follows the Scrum rules and fosters the Scrum framework. The project manager, on the other hand, is free to customize their approach to match the unique needs of the team, department, or the entire organization. 2. While the project manager prepares a meeting schedule and project communication plan, the Scrum Master facilitates Daily Scrum meetings and other meetings in accordance with the Scrum framework. Similarities 1. They don’t have supreme authority. Project managers must report to clients and other project stakeholders. Scrum Masters have to report to clients, project stakeholders, and Product Owners. 2. Both the project manager and Scrum Master communicate with the team, receive feedback, mitigate risks, and ensure greater bonding within a team. Refer to the case study Dog Shelter App. After attending a seminar on agile scrum, you have decided to use scrum techniques rather the traditional waterfall approach to complete the project. Create a product backlog for the project. Use the template provided in Table 1. The first one has been completed for you.
