What are four components of transformational leadership? How can their application help Dar transform Kapicic. The four components: Idealized Influence or Charisma - Leaders are role models the followers want to emulate. - The followers want to share the vision Inspirational Motivation - Followers feels motivated to share the organizations vision with a high degree of commitment. - Followers don’t only follow their self-interest. - Leaders increasing team spirit. Intellectual Stimulation - Leaders encourage followers to be innovative. Individualized Consideration - Leaders understand the followers These components can be applied to the case in which Kapicic needed to transform the company from a loss-making challenge into a profit-making business. The biggest change that was needed to be made was to change the way people worked. By taking responsibility he worked as a role model instead of just motivate and inspire through speeches and talks at company events. That is an example on how idealized influence was used to make followers share the vision. What he also did was to promote Song Chengyan which showed an example of which mentality a worker should have in the company and by that he was kind of a role model. Inspirational Motivation can be applied to help the company to work as a team, this could help the company to get a shared mindset where every individual don’t follow their own self interest, and followers will follow the company’s vision towards change for the better. Intellectual Stimulation 2. Is Kapicic a transformational leader? Show proof from the case. 3. What issues must Kapicic address over the next over the next year or two?
