What are your thoughts on the weaknesses both Spanish and modern educational system? - My thoughts on the weaknesses both Spanish and modern educational system like over – emphasis on religion, limited and irrelevant curriculum, inadequate instructional facilities, absence of academic freedom, and lastly racial prejudice against the Filipinos in school is some of these weaknesses are can still be seen in the modern educational system. For example, in the limited and irrelevant curriculum, nowadays there are still subjects that for me doesn’t make sense and irrelevant in the course that I am taking. In inadequate instructional facilities I can say that this is still present up until now because many children or students especially in urban areas that has poor instructional facilities which makes it hard not only to the students but also to the teachers. There is also absence in academic freedom because a teacher or professor cannot discuss topics without restriction or interference by the school or public officials. There may be some big changes and improvement in the modern educational system but some of the weaknesses from the Spanish era that is still not eliminated....
