ENC1101 04/04/19 Reader Response 5: Write an essay on whether you love or hate horror movies. Horror movies are very famous in these times. Many people love this type of movie. The directors of these films play with the sound effects and the drama to cause fearfulness. I do not like them in particular because they scare me easily and I cannot sleep at night. To begin with, I hate horror movies because I am a very scary person. I get scared by any sound or anything small that I do not expect will happen. Horror movies always keep me in constant tension. I do not like to see this kind of movies but there have been situations in which I have seen them and I spend the whole course of the film covering my face to see as little as possible. The sound of the movie also transmits a lot of fear, because it is dark and gives a feeling of suspense. Some horror movies includes dismemberment. Dismemberment involves loss of a part of the self. The popularity of horror movies involves self-dismemberment as the only way to escape death. In these movies occurs a lot of strange things that I don’t like. Also, when a see horror movies I cannot sleep at night. I still remember in detail the first horror movie I saw when I was still a little girl. Every horror movie that I see stays in my mind and I cannot forget it. I do not like them because they have creepy and disgusting things. I do not like to see people suffer or be mistreated and less die. Before, when I was younger I woke up because of the nightmares I had because I dreamed about things related to these movies. To conclude, I avoid using all means of watching horror movies because I hate them and they do not contribute anything good to me. I do not like to be scared, I prefer to enjoy a movie of action, comedy or any other genre than watching a movie that transmits fear....
