Summary

This is an assignment that I answered questions from the instructor about problems that families face....

Description

Discuss some of the problems families face today. What are some things that society should be doing to help the "family"? What can social institutions do to help families... what do you want from government, schools, churches, media, corporate America, etc. ? I think domestic violence, divorce, addiction, and wrong parenting are some of the issues that families are facing today. For example, wrong parenting is so important because while you are raising children, not only for your family, you also raise a child for society. The way that we teach, show, tell, and behave is so significant. I also believe that if people in the family care about other people in their family, the relationship between all those members would be good. I believe that the most important problem that families are facing is domestic violence. There are many things that society and government can make for stopping the domestic violence. What society can do is, they must refer their neighbor, co-worker, friend, or family member to a domestic violence outreach organization if they suspect he or she is being abused. They can donate to domestic violence counseling programs and shelters. They also can educate others on domestic violence by inviting a speaker from their local domestic violence organization to present at their volunteer group, workplace, or school. What government does about domestic violence is they can open more shelters for those people and they can impose more punishment for the violent. Schools can teach young people how to create a peaceful family, and how violence is wrong. Schools are so important because the information that people learn on their childhood are significant. What media can do about domestic violence is media can show other people what is really happening. They must be neutral and they always support people who are under violence....
