Everyone has the same answers; Make sure you properly cite, quoting, and paraphrasing. The one thing that I have not seen anyone mention yet is the Plagiarism checker that is available to all of us. I fell that if you take your time and give proper credit when it is required along with the provided checker then avoiding it should be pretty easy.

Well anytime you use anything from a text, online source, or anything that your taking facts from you have to give credit to the author. There are plenty of times when you will attempt to "rephrase" a text but still take bits from the sentence, that can also be viewed as plagiarism without even knowing. Always use the reference generator on the school website, this is a fool proof way to ensure you have a reference. Also before turning in your papers always upload it to the plagiarism check in the resources. These two things will help you triple check your giving credit where credit is due.

Writing Research Papers, Ch. 2: Finding a Topic - Ch. 2: Finding a Topic... – Neisha (Comment on the below post) 4. This chapter was very important and gave lots of valuable information on finding a topic when doing research papers. One of the most important parts of this chapter to me is the section on is relating your personal ideas to a scholarly problem. This section is basically telling us when we are selecting a topic to make sure it is something that we relate to or personally interest us. I find this important because I believe it is important to pick a topic you can relate to, it will make one have more passion in their research paper.

These are all great responses, but I would like to add on that as it was mentioned in the book you also don't want your reader to be bored. To elaborate on this maybe getting a topic that you consider to be challenging or interesting to you because when conducting a research paper you will inevitably expand educational literacy through intense research and reading articles. In addition, I like the idea that research papers are persuasive in a way where you take a side and back up your point with factual, recent, and informative factors. Of course, for some, it may be different depending on their comfort zone, but ultimately I like to be challenged and expand my learning.

Introduction to Arguments - The Main Purpose of Persuading - Junior (Comment on the below post) 6. After watching these two brief videos I came to the assumption that being rhetorical is another way of persuading. Getting the audience or reader to agree with you is vital in a persuasive paper but on a side note, the evidence is critical in this situation to back up any assumptions and precedents to make your claim sound more appealing. For instance, there are times when my little sister will act rhetorical toward my mother in order to stay up a little longer or get something from the supermarket. This can go a long way if executed precisely and you may also discover things you never thought of or considered. Becoming persuasive in my view is being persuasive with yourself and your audience discovering new information along the way.

Components of an Argument In order to develop an argument for your Final Argument Paper, due in Week 5, you must first understand the components of an argument. Discuss the following: 7. What are the main components of an argument? 8. What makes an argument paper different from a personal essay?...
