1. Exploring Digital Data Our new unit is about how digital devices process numbers, text, images & sound using binary data with just 1s and 0s. This builds on last year, when we said 1s and 0s represent when current is on or off in the computer’s electric circuits. We also said that eight bits make-up the basic unit called a byte. But the more bytes you have, the more you can store and process, so we use special units for lots of bytes.
