Description

I recommend the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) personality test for employers. I recommend this test because it is reliable, has a high level of validity, and it’s for personal and professional uses. The Rorschach and TAT (Thematic Apperception Test) are not only unreliable and have a low validity level, but they are not suitable for professional cases. The test involves cards of images, different cards for each person that tests. This makes the tests unreliable. As for the MMPI-2 (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory), it is high in validity and can be reliable, but it does not take in cultural values. There are discrepancies in scoring based on race and ethnicity. This is not a reliable test for the employers, and is vaguely unfair for the employees. I took the MBTI myself, and felt that it was an easy way to find out more about my personality, and I think the employers would think so too. The reliability and validity of the MBTI support the employer and employee’s case. The employer doesn’t want to lose good workers because of a misconception on the test. The employers will come to find out that the employees they need will pass the test, the employees will benefit because they will find out their own personality, and maybe find that a different job will suit them better. In order to not have more accidents at the site, reduce major lawsuits, injuries, or employee loss, they need to take a chance on the MBTI to find that the test is a good option for their situation....
