LAB COMPONENT (20%) – 6 labs worth 3.33% each. NOTE: YOU MUST PASS THE LAB COMPONENT IN ORDER TO RECEIVE A PASSING GRADE FOR THIS COURSE! A handful of students in the past have received a high average in the “lecture” portion of the course, but failed to submit any labs. Unfortunately, they were issued an “F” grade. You will be completing ALL 6 labs at home. All 6 lab protocols are available in the Lab Protocols link on Blackboard. MAKE SURE that you skim through ALL of the lab protocols well-ahead of the due dates to make sure that you have all of the materials/resources needed to complete the labs. Most items can be purchased from your local grocery or drug store. Please view the BIO 105 Course Calendar to make sure you submit your labs on time.

After each lab you must complete a lab quiz or lab assignment: The lab quizzes and assignments are available under the Lab Assessment link on Blackboard. AFTER you complete each lab, there is an assessment that must be completed. You must complete this assessment before WEDNESDAYS (listed below) at 11:59 pm. These questions are designed to test whether you actually DID the lab! Assessment questions will ask about observations seen during the lab, and if you didn’t do the lab in-person, you won’t be able to get the correct answer on the assessment! Some lab assessments have a time limit on them, so please make sure that you read the instructions very carefully prior to doing the lab and completing the assessment. LAB SCHEDULE: #
