Synopsis

A 16-year-old girl named Abigail or better known as Abby had planned for her 16th birthday party while she was young again with the wish list she wanted it to happen. When the big day finally arrives, she excitedly adds her 16th and final wish to the secret wish list she’s been keeping A photo of Logan her crush. Then begins the first of many unusual occurrences, each including visits from a peculiar woman, Celeste. She first appears as an exterminator when the Jensen’s house gets overrun by wasp from a nest in their attic that has been structure up for 16 years.

Grudging to ride the bus to school, Abby lights the first candle and wishes for a new car, the eighth wish on her list. Though, her first wish, meeting Joey Lockhart, the hottest celebrity, is fulfilled. Abby then realizes that the candles correspond to her 16 wishes on her list and that they’re each coming true every time a candle is lit. Celeste later communicates her after midnight, all wishes will become everlasting. Abby lands the devotion of Logan, gets the Ford Mustang she’s always dreamed of, she gets back at her lifelong opponent, Krista Cook by whipping her in a volleyball match, then getting elected as Student Body President, even though she didn’t sign up for the elections. Also, she is suddenly stylish, sporty, and widespread.

During lessons, Abby remembers that she needs the flawless dress for prom, and decides to go out and buy it together with Jay, which agrees to pay for it. They are followed by Krista, who decides to see where Abby’s sudden good luck comes from, and when Jay drops his wallet, she takes it. She also convinces the store worker that they are not going to buy anything and are just wasting her time. The worker believes her and kicks them out. While in the changing room, Abby uses the ninth candle and makes a wish to be treated like an adult, which instead, makes her an adult. This turns for the inferior for Abby as it results in

her not being allowed to attend high school anymore, and no one at school remembers her, not even Jay. Her parents also buy her a new apartment and leave her to live on her own.

Messages

Responsibilities will come soon enough. 16 wishes convey positive messages about being a good friend, being careful what you wish for, and remembering the important things in life. Also, Abby learns that being a kid has its perks, and there is no need to grow up too fast. There are many messages that we can learn from this movie. First is we must love our family because they were the one who take care of and raise us from children to adult. Not only that, we also must love our friends and always appreciate them. We need to enjoy our lives and childhood because we will miss it when we step into the world of adolescence and adulthood.

Interpersonal Communication (CHAPTER 3) At the minutes 02:26, This scene shown us that how Abby look and see about herself. For example, the scene is about Abby told her family to not treat her like a kid. She wants to be a grown up person like others. From scene 04:22, its about self-awareness, Abby tries to sort out her clothes to wear during her birthday party. That means Abby thought to use a shirt that suits herself. Impact

There is a lot of things I’ve learned from this movie. While doing this assignment, there have been many impacts that have had a profound impact on audiences like me. First, about friendships. In this movie, we can saw that friendships between Abby and her friends are very strong. So, we need to always be kind to our friends and not resent each other. Secondly, about helpful. We must be helpful to each other so we can make things easier. Third is about selfish. From what we can see in this movie, Abby was a selfish person. Why I say Abby was a selfish person? Because, Abby always want to compete with her enemy (Krista). She did not like her enemy to have something more than herself....
