State Machine Charts

Also known as Algorithmic State Machine (ASM) charts

Overall  An alternative to state diagrams  Resembles flow charts BUT  The transitions are tied to the clock as for

a state diagram.  All actions between state boxes occur at

the same time – but actions later on the path override ‘earlier’ conflicting actions. Rather similar to how processes act. (Some version don’t allow conflicting operations)
