Description

The reading passage argues that we have to replace the let it burn policy with a policy of extinguishing forest fire with some reasons, but the lecturer casts doubt on the reading passage from the following tree perspectives: creating a new opportunity for some small species, making chain stronger, and the low frequency of a large forest fire. According to the reading passage, the forest fire in Yellowstone cause damage to vegetation and national treasure. Forest fire scorched one third of yellow stones’ land. Smaller plants and a national treasure are negatively affected by forest fire. However, the lecturer argues that the forest fire in 1988 made a new diversity of plants. A new small plant was able to colonize in the scorched land. Also, many small species that need a space could grow in a new vegetation. The reading passage refers to the damage for animals. Large animal like deer or elk and small animals were suffered from forest fire. The forest fire destroyed the habitation and the food chains in Yellow land. However, that is not the case, according to the lecturer, who introduces an opportunity for small animals to live in the land. In 1988 forest fire, for rabbits and hair, the scorched land was ideal habitat to live in. Also, their predators started to live in the area. They could make a new stronger food chain. The reading passage focuses on the negative effect on a tourist attraction. Because of the Yellowstone forest fire, tourist season became shorter, and visitors began to stay away. The forest fire damage on the local economy. However, the lecturer points out the frequency of a large forest fire. A large forest fires could be caused by some factors like strong winds. A large forest fires don’t occur so frequently. Also, in the 1988 forest fire, visitors brought back in the next year and each year after the forest fire....
