WELCOME TO PSYC232 2020! We are excited to have you with us this trimester! All of the information on this page is in the Course Outline (on Blackboard) – this is the condensed version.
What we expect from you: - Actively engage with lectures, labs, and online content – it’s all there for a reason. - Complete your assignments - Let us know if you are struggling/don’t understand – we can’t help if we don’t know! What we don’t expect: - Stats wizard level of mastery - Perfection – even science makes mistakes! What you can expect from us: - Responsiveness (within reason) - Human interaction – we are not robots (or are we?) - A moderate level of humour and reasonable chats Lecture Times and Locations: Each week the lecturers will make their lectures available online through Blackboard. They may post additional follow-ups based on how they decide to engage with the class. Labs: The lab program in PSYC232 is very important. Labs begin in Week 2 (week starting 9 th March). The activities you complete in your labs will help consolidate lecture material and will help you greatly with your assignments. All our labs will run ONLINE. We will announce a more detailed plan about this by the end of April. Online Modules: This year, PSYC232 is also running a series of online modules. There are ten online modules spread throughout the trimester. See attached course schedule (or the course outline on Blackboard) for weeks these modules will need to be completed. -
-
Completing these online modules makes up to 5% of your grade for PSYC232. You must complete the module in the week it is assigned. Online modules will be available to complete through Blackboard from 6am on the Monday of the week they are assigned, and will close at 10pm on the following Sunday. Grades for these online modules are based on completion. In order to gain the full 5%, you must complete at least 8 out of the 10 modules. If you complete between 5 and 8 modules you will gain only 2.5%, and if you complete less than 5 online modules, you will gain 0%. o The purpose of this is to reward those who complete the online modules. These modules will help you to review and consolidate lecture and lab material, as well as provide important information about your assignments.
