3. A Personal View of Aging and Self-Assessment: (20% of total grade)
Goals: 1. To develop self-awareness. 2. To assess and evaluate your own learning experience in the course. 3. To write a 3 – 5 page paper using APA format. Format: Thoughts about your own Aging: Assess your potential life expectancy and complete the instruction on the web site:
https://www.northwesternmutual.com/learning-center/tools/the-longevity-game Given your “estimated” life expectancy, evaluate your thoughts and plan for life as you age.
Required Reading: Did you complete all required readings prior to class discussion; did you read any supplemental readings?
Participation: How actively did you participate in class discussions, experiential learning, small group exercises and case discussions?
Contribution: What was the quality of your contribution to your small group sessions? What was the feedback you received from group members appraising your performance as a member of the work group?
Critique of Learning Experiences: Critique your learning experiences, especially regarding skills development and “use of self”; values, ethics and an appreciation of client diversity across clinical discussions.
Personal Philosophy of Practice: What is your personal philosophy of practice? Apply your philosophy to a case example taken from your experience with a client in your field placement/work, or a case from the literature.
Assignments: How well did you do on your Forum postings, group PPT presentation, and written paper assignments?
Grade: Give yourself a letter grade and justify your self-assessment.
