Imagine you manage a group of fifteen employees. Yours is a small firm that does research projects for corporate clients. All of your employees used to work solely in the office, but some are gradually beginning to work from home. Both negative and positive effects are occurring in your office. Think about what these would be. You decide to develop new policies and practices for working from home so that employees are held accountable and the work gets done. Introduction A. Statistic as a hook to catch the audience’s attention: Last year, 43 percent of employed Americans said they spent at least some time working remotely, according to the survey of more than 15,000 adults. B. Purpose of email: We are pleased to inform you of new company policies that will allow you to work from home effectively and efficiently that include the following: 1. Full-time employment (40 hours) 2. Work from home schedule on certain days (Monday through Friday) 3. Everyday, dividing work hours between being in the office and working from a remote location. Explain New Policies A. Policy 1: Full-time employment B. Policy 2: Which days should I work from home? C. Policy 3: Working everyday, dividing work hours between being in the office and working from a remote location. Summary and call to action A. Summary: These new policies will allow us all to remain accountable for our work, yet allow us the flexibility of working from home. The new policies will take effect as of today. B.
