The film is a fascinating piece. Annie's actual development is seen throughout the documentary. The film depicts Annie's childhood in which she was always on the camera during the family postings. Annie grabbed the camcorder at an early age while using the car window as the picture frame (ICA films). The haunting artwork of John Lennon and her images of Hilary Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Mick Jagger demonstrate Annie's progression from an instinctive captor to a candid photographer (ICA films, 2008). Annie's development reflects her passion for and commitment to photography. Simultaneously, the relationship Annie develops with the subjects of her photography makes the documentary outstanding. While shooting Rolling Stone, Annie goes on a tour with the subjects and bands to be restful around her (ICA films, 2008). Her collaborative character is echoed in one of her greatest sayings, where she states that she is never afraid to fall in love with her pictures' subjects. Annie's work with other artists is perceived to be collaborative rather than directed.
