If it was my family and I that were in the post retirement stage where we are looking for benefits, I would choose health insurance. I feel like making sure that my family has this for decreasing health as we get older and not having to pay as much money out of pocket would be a big help when we are on a tight budget. The similarities between a pension plan and other earned benefits are the fact that they are all earned benefits by the employee. “The ACA still requires that companies with more than fifty fulltime workers offer employee health benefits. At the same time, only 54% of businesses with fewer than 50 employees provide health insurance.[2] You are more likely to attract and retain top talent if you offer health insurance.” (2019) I know when looking for a job the top thing that I want to find out is the health insurance and how much it is going to cost me. Having a family and being able to provide health insurance to make sure we are not paying a ton of money outof-pocket. If you were to select a pension plan instead of health insurance, you would be forced to use your money for higher healthcare premiums and higher drug prices which would drown your money faster than being able to have health insurance and paying just up to your deductible.
