An early learning experience I had involving reading and writing. Another day with the scorching sun, a day to go to school again. Being in a nursery class was sometimes the highlight of my day. Days we would do no work but talk and play with our friends till our parents came to pick us up in our once white uniforms was one of those days. Somedays were just irritating and aggravating. Days we had to do work. The only job a nursery student in my school did was read and write to pass the time. When asked to read, I was the child who would stare into the book pretending to be reading. I would be somewhat excited when I got books with pictures. As I was seated, “reading,” I occasionally scope out the teacher’s current location unsuspiciously. Whenever the teacher came close to my desk, I would place my finger under the words of a line in the book to make it seem as if I were intrigued by what has been written in the book. I did this because of some movies I watched that gave me an idea of how a person reading should look and act. My lack of reading transferred to my writing skills. I was not too fond of both. As time went on, my classmates spoke to each other in words I did not understand, pushed me to expand my vocabulary and communicate better. Your teacher is not always the only one you can learn from, and I am most effective when I learn with a person who is not my teacher because of how we can communicate with each other....
