Description

Analyze of thinking out loud I have chosen the song Thinking out Loud and I did that because I think Ed Sheeran is a good singer and the text is very good. The text is about living with your loved one for the rest of your life. The songwriter of the song is Ed Sheeran and Amy Wadge. Ed met Amy when he was just 17 years old. They were not meant to write this song. Amy visited Ed in 2014 and while Ed was in the shower she played a few chords on the guitar. Ed heard it and rushed out of the shower and they then started writing a song on the chords she randomly played on the guitar. Ed wrote the song about his girlfriend at the time. They broke up about a year after. The song has a soft acoustic sound with a primary focus on vocals although there are little backing vocals that flow with the music and provide additional effects of sound from a choir. The title of the song is saying a lot about the song. The words “thinking out loud” are first being sung in the chords after he is singing “place your head on my beating heart”. Which means when she place her head on his heart she can hear him “thinking out loud”. Thinking out loud means that he want to think loud about his love for her. He really want to live the rest of his life loving only one woman. In the text of the song there is rhetorical questions in the first verse there is 2 “Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love” and ” Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks”. These are not answered by the audience ore the speaker witch is unusual. Normally these kind of questions is answered by the speaker but in this lyrics it is not. There is also rhymes in the text in the second verse 70 and 23 is a rhyme and ways and days is also a rhyme there is a lot of these kind of ending cross rhymes. The theme of the lyrics is lifelong love Ed was just 23 when he wrote the song but he dreamed of a lifelong love. The song is about living with his loved one for the rest of his life. The message with this text is to learn younger people about love and how good it feels to be in love with a person.

The lyrics to the text is on the next side.

When your legs don't work like they used to before And I can't sweep you off of your feet Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70 And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23 And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways Maybe just the touch of a hand Oh me I fall in love with you every single day And I just wanna tell you I am So honey now Take me into your loving arms Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars Place your head on my beating heart I'm thinking out loud Maybe we found love right where we are When my hair's all but gone and my memory fades And the crowds don't remember my name When my hands don't play the strings the same way, mm I know you will still love me the same 'Cause honey your soul can never grow old, it's evergreen Baby your smile's forever in my mind and memory I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways Maybe it's all part of a plan I'll just keep on making the same mistakes Hoping that you'll understand But baby now Take me into your loving arms Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars Place your head on my beating heart I'm thinking out loud That maybe we found love right where we are, oh So baby now Take me into your loving arms Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars Oh darling, place your head on my beating heart I'm thinking out loud That maybe we found love right where we are Oh maybe we found love right where we are And we found love right where we are...
