Course Learning Objectives: By the end of this course, you should be able to: 

Apply the anatomical and medical terminology learned in this course

Identify the different tissues types within the human body

Demonstrate an understanding of the human organ systems to include the Integumentary system, Musculoskeletal System, Nervous System, Endocrine system, Cardiovascular System, Respiratory System, Digestive System, Urinary System and Reproductive System.

How will I know if you achieve these objectives? I use multiple methods to determine how well students achieve course learning objectives. Each student completes a pre-assessment, allowing me to see what you understand before taking the course. The pre-assessment is due August 26th by 11:59 p.m. Completing the pre-assessment and the post-assessment will earn you 2% extra credit on the Final Lecture Exam. I will post the due date of the post-assessment later in the semester. The remaining course assignments allow me to access your achievement of the course learning objectives. At the end of the course, you will complete a post-assessment, which will be the same questions from your pre-assessment. Completion of the post-assessment will provide me with a post-measure of your success. Course Learning Objectives

Lecture Exams and Lab Practicals: o Excused Missed Exams-I will apply the following missed exam policy for exams that are missed due to illness, an emergency, etc.  The comprehensive final lecture exam will serve as a make-up exam for one missed lecture exam.  The final lab practical will serve as a make-up exam for one missed lab practical.  If additional exams are missed due to an illness or emergency, I will work with you to develop an individualized plan. o Missed exams because of an unexcused absence-For any unexcused absence, you will earn a 0% on the lecture exam and lab practical. o If no exams are missed, 90% of the comprehensive final lecture exam score will be substituted for the lowest lecture exam.

Exam Administration: 

Lecture Exams and Lab Practical Exams will be administered through Canvas. Exams will open at 9:30 a.m. and close at 4:00 p.m. on the scheduled day of the exam.

Incomplete Grades: The grade of I (Incomplete) indicates that the student has satisfactorily completed the major portion of a course but prevented by extraordinary circumstances from completing the balance of the course. The grade of I will be given only if the instructor has sufficient reason to believe that the failure to complete the requirements of the course was beyond the student’s control and that it would be unjust to hold the student to the time limits normally fixed for completion of the required assignments. The grade of I will not be awarded simply to exempt a student from paying tuition for a repeated course.
