Chapter 5: From Duty to Passion 1. Money will always be easier to measure, which is why it takes a little extra effort to value the heart. 2. Economic research demonstrates that—above a certain threshold—money isn’t strongly correlated to happiness. People who live at subsistence income levels may not be able to afford to follow their passion and optimize for the heart. 3. The “Looks Good, Feels Bad” Trap: we people should feel passion, purpose and the meaning of the things we do in our life. In opens our perspective that has a possibility of opening a new world full of surprises. 4. We should perceive our responsibilities, jobs, or career. We should enjoy and learn from our passion and on what we do in our everyday life. 5. Seek your passion: make use of our hidden talents and enjoy what we like doing. 6. Experiment with side projects: trusting yourself to do something else outside the scope of the things you do. Making a change for youself. Chapter 6: Creatively Confident Groups 1. Teamwork – being in a team helps everyone to be more innovative and work more effectively. It will help us to develop our creative culture because not only 1 mind is working. 2. To build a creative organization, you need to build creative confidence among key players. Basically the same thing with teamwork, to be able to support each other and build creative confidence that will help each other to be innovative. 3. Karaoke confidence in your work culture – confidence to make teams that handle innovations, people will have the mindset of working altogether to finish a project with an acceptable solution. The whole team will work together until the end of the project. 4. Care and feeding of an innovation team – working with people that has diverse backgrounds is more appropriate. People will come up with more ideas since they know different cultures. They could share their knowledge from each other about their differences in terms of culture. People will have more fun because of the diversity. 5. Innovation greenhouse – it’s all about keeping in touch with people. Keeping them all together in one place but not to close so they could work more effectively. Starting with small tasks before going big to innovate something. 6. Use language to shape your culture – language helps for communicating more effectively with people. When you have ideas, speak up and share your thoughts and influence other people mind with words in a good way. 7. Innovation leadership – a good leader can’t dictate what the team should do, he should ask each members for ideas and make use of it or make a collaboration to make ideas better. 8. Tapping creativity in us all – growing creative confidence in each and everyone’s organization, culture of innovation.
