Learning Outcomes Covered by this assessment. Students will be able to: 1. To critically evaluate current trends and issues facing the events industry. 3. To synthesise current industry-related information and processes in order to identify and critically analyse relevant best practice approaches.

Assessment Task A) Event Proposal teams will be formed during the first weeks of the module. Teams will consist of four students. It is the teams’ responsibility to organise content, roles and sequence of the event proposal presentation (pitch). Each team will have a minimum of 20 minutes to maximum of 25 minutes, to present their ‘Event Proposal’ to the rest of the class, with around 5 minutes for questions. This is worth 10% of the assessment grade. The Presentation of the Event Proposal (pitch) is an early summative assignment with feedback to be used in shaping and amending the final written event proposal. The presentation is worth 10% of the overall grade of assessment one. The presentations will start w/c 08/01/18 to 26/01/18 in the lecture and seminar slots. All students are expected to attend. B) The 2800 word consultancy event proposal and presentation is worth 70% of the overall module grade (90% of the assessment grade) and will be written by all members of the team (the word count is therefore per team member – i.e. four team members equals an 11,200 word report, five equals 14,000 etc).
