1. Introduction Parallel operating systems are the interface between parallel computers (or computer systems) and the applications (parallel or not) that are executed on them. They translate the hardware’s capabilities into concepts usable by programming languages. Each product and company come with many types of Parallel operating systems depend on it use and marketing product. Some company will use their own product as an asset of the company such as creating own supercomputer for company purpose and provide it for their employee. Each parallel operating system had its own advantages and disadvantage depend on company production. It also has some familiar processor or model and it depend on each company because some company used same Control Processor Unit (CPU).

2. Review Selected Parallel Computer A. Review on Acer (Muhamad Haziq bin Mohd Rosdi, 2019315051) The companies that I choose is Acer Incorporated, it was Taiwan’s leading exporter and the world fifth largest computer manufacturer. The company design, manufactures and sells computer software and hardware products, it ranks among the world’s largest manufactures of individual components such as keyboards, motherboards, set-up boxes, storage drives, monitors, CD- ROM drives, keyboards, printers, scanners and software. Acer's nearly 30 years of growth results primarily from its business of manufacturing and assembling branded and contract PCs in several locations throughout the world. The company sells its products through dealers and distributors in more than 100 countries. As for the personal computer or laptop that I choose from this company is Acer Predator Helios 300. This product was dedicated for gaming purpose and high-performance task because of its outrageously powerful computer, excellent performance and astonishing design.

Microprocessor/Multiprocessor Architecture For the Acer Predator Helios 300, this laptop used 10 th Gen Intel Core i7 Mobile Processor for its CPU. This CPU is based on Ice Lake Microprocessor which is suitable for mobile processor. The Ice Lake system on a chip is 10-nanometer SoC that aimed at the premium mobile and the thin-and-light market. The microprocessor consists of five major components: CPU cores, LLC, ring interconnect, system agent, and Gen11 graphics. While a lot of what Ice Lake provides is inherited from the prior generations, Intel claims that every IP on Ice Lake has been enhanced in one way or another. A major enhancement in Ice Lake over the prior generation is the integration of up to four Sunny Cove cores which provide a significant uplift in IPC. Those cores also bring AVX-512 support for the client market. Those cores, along with the system agent and the GPU, are linked over Intel's ring interconnect. The chip is fed through a new integrated memory controller that supports quad-channel 32-bit LPDDR4X memory, providing bandwidths in the range of 50-60 GB/s. Ice Lake has a new integrated GPU which is based on their Gen11 microarchitecture which provides a large improvement in graphics performance.

The system architecture in Ice Lake has been redesigned. Intel added a new Gaussian Neural Accelerator (GNA) for the acceleration of inference applications. There is a new 4thgeneration image processing unit (IPU). Ice Lake integrates the entire Thunderbolt 3 I/O subsystem on-die, significantly simplifying support at the system level. Ice Lake has four Thunderbolt 3 ports. All four ports have the same capabilities and can be used simultaneously at full performance at up to 40 Gbps per port. Intel also upgraded the display engine to Gen11 with an improved display pipe that has a new Adaptive Sync and HDRcapable display pipes that support HDR 3 and DisplayPort 1.4, supporting error correction and compression. Ice Lake chips integrate the PCH die on-package communicating over the on-package interconnect (OPI). The new PCH The PCH has an expanded I/O support for PCIe, USB, SATA, as well as audio DSP for load power voice processing. It also integrates WiFi 6+ CNVi. On the platform level, there is a new integrated power delivery (FIVR) on both the PCH and the CPU which Intel says allows them to save on platform area by about 15% and it reduces the power delivery rails for the OEMs by roughly half.

Acer Predator Helios 300 used this architecture because:  Single instruction is applied to a multiple data item to produce same output  Master instruction work on vector of operand  No of processors running the same instruction one clock system by the strict lock approach  Instruction level parallelism  Communication networks allow parallel synchronous communication between several Processing Element / Memory modules.

Memory System Management It used GDDR6 (Micron) memory, which is it size 8192 MB, the bandwidth size is 45.8 GB/s and it Bus Width is 192 bits. The CAS latency is 19.0 clocks. The memory can be customized by the user up to 64 GB memory for the best performance

Communication Model Used This Acer used shared-address-space multiprocessors. Part (or all) of the memory is accessible to all processors. Processors interact by modifying data objects stored in this shared-address-space. If the time taken by a processor to access any memory word in the system global or local is identical, the platform is classified as a uniform memory access (UMA), else, a nonuniform memory access (NUMA) machine.

Examples of suitable applications for this platform Since this laptop had the best performance it can run all game in high performance and play it smooth like game that need lot of rendering process Batman Arkham Knight, Assassins Creed Odyssey or Call of Duty. Plus, it also executed high applications such as AutoCAD, Adobe After Effect and can rendering faster for creating video using Adobe Premier.

Advantages, issues and limitation  Advantages - Good screen resolutions, powerful processor, great graphic and fantastic cooling system  Issues - Outrageous price, eats up a lot of energy, overheat  Limitation - Fans become noisy as laptop warm up, lack an SD card slot and Thunderbolt 3 support, sharp edge, cutting through the user’s wrists.

B. Review on Asus (Tengku Arshad bin Tengku Amir Hamzah, 2019336777) One of the companies that we choose for this project is Asus Company. They are always in search of incredible ideas and experiences, and they aspire to deliver the incredible in everything they do.

Microprocessor/Multiprocessor Architecture For ASUS TUF FX504GD, it comes with Intel Core i5-8300H Coffee Lake (2.5 GHz, 4 cores), so performance-wise you have no compromise at all. Coffee Lake (CFL) is a microarchitecture designed by Intel as a successor to Kaby Lake for desktops and high-performance mobile devices. Coffee Lake was introduced in the third quarter of 2017 and is manufactured on Intel's mature 14 nm process. Coffee Lake features the first series of mainstream hexa-core processors from Intel. In 2018, Intel refreshed the Coffee Lake line-up to incorporate their first series of mainstream octa-core processors. The Coffee Lake system on a chip consists of five major components which is CPU cores, LLC, Ring interconnect, System Agent, and the integrated graphics.

Memory System Management The ASUS TUF Gaming FX504 Laptop takes the DDR4 PC4-21300 2666MHz Non-ECC SODIMM memory type and comes installed with 8GB memory. The bandwidth is 41.8 Gb/s and CAS latency of the memory is 19. The Laptop has 2 slots to install memory, already with 8GB standard memory installed. For best TUF Gaming FX504 Laptop performance use the maximum amount of 32GB, fill all the slots with the max allowed memory per slot for your Laptop.

Examples of suitable applications for this platform Since it is the cheapest gaming laptop from the TUF Gaming series, it lacks some of the max function but can still running a high-performance game such as Monster Hunter World, Assassin Creed Syndicate and Far Cry 5. It can also run high processing application such as Adobe Photoshop and AutoCAD.

Advantages, issues and limitation   

Advantages: Cool looking, cheapest among other gaming laptops and high CPU and RAM. Issues: Runs hot with time. Limitation: Medium display and SSD storage and only medium high function available

3. Discussion and Summary In our discussion we can related that Acer Predator Helios 300 is more efficient than ASUS TUF FX504GD. Comparison to CPU is that Acer use Intel i7 10 th Generation which use Ice Lake microprocessor while Asus use Intel Core i5 8th Generation which use Coffee Lake microprocessor. Coffee Lake has better performance than Ice Lake because of advantages on core and thread but compare toward the generation Ice Lake is better because of the great time clocks of processor. They have the same model of parallel computer architecture which is product use Single Multiple Data Architecture. For the Memory system management, each product had different Double Data Rate (DDR) memory which is Acer is better in terms of performance since it uses DDR6 memory compare to Asus that use DDR4 memory. DDR6 bandwidth is 45.1 Gb/s better than DDR4 bandwidth 41.5, even it was not slightly gap but it will still affect the performance, meanwhile for the latency for each product has the same values which is 19 clocks. For each communication model, both product used sharedaddress-space multiprocessors. For the requirement to install software for each product do not has problem but it depends on how that performance will executed. For example, each product need to install Monster Hunter game that need a lot of rendering for Frame Per Second (FPS), Acer has better chance to get highest resolution and max FPS rather than Asus and for the AutoCAD software it also will win by Acer because of the processor of it has support for the recommended requirement rather Asus that only minimum requirement. Lastly each product has different price range where Asus is affordable than Acer which is you need to spend more for the better performance and for the design each product had good looking design and had common issues which is getting hot when running in high performance by time.
