Assignment 2 regarding Human Subjects Training...

Description

Sociology 108A Assignments Assignment 2: Human Subjects Training Due: April 16th 11:59pm Points: 10 As we’ve been discussing in class, protecting the welfare and rights of research subjects is incredibly important for a variety of different reasons. One way that research institutions and funding agencies do this is by requiring that all personnel associated with a research project complete human subjects training. For this assignment, you will need to complete the online training offered here at UCSB. This exercise will only take you about 30 minutes to complete. Go to http://hstraining.orda.ucsb.edu/ This is the entry for the human subjects training. You can click on ‘Training FAQ” if you have some questions about the training process or you can click ‘Start Training Module’ to begin the training process. At the next page, be sure to click on ‘login’ instead of ‘guest.’ If you click ‘guest,’ you will not get credit for the training process. So, after you’ve clicked ‘login,’ you’ll see the prompts listed below. You will need to log in using the following information: Key Code Number: RESD-WA-ME-002 Your last name: Your first name: Your email: Your sponsor’s email: [email protected] Last name of I.D. Number owner: WARREN Other notification: Have you ever logged in with this I.D. before? Yes No (click whichever is appropriate) While working through the training module, make sure you only use the module’s navigation – do NOT use the back button or other buttons on your web browser. Entering my email in the above ‘sponsor’s email’ box will send an email to me indicating that you have completed the training module. Make sure you have also entered your TA’s email in “Other notification” so your TA will also receive your completion email. Once you have completed the training in this course, you will not need to retake it if you’re ever part of an official research project here at UCSB....
