Assignment-5 HP This renowned name emerged in 1939. It is a resourceful company providing IT products and services to people. They did not only accommodated individual customers but also many businesses and organizations. With time, this company diversified and provided hardware and software solutions. HP has earned a name in IT industry by providing their customers with best computers and printers. Like all other big companies, HP has addressed the needs of their retail and corporate customers by geographic and demographic segmentation. As we know that targeting is one of the most important parts in marketing, HP has also focused on this aspect. It uses differentiating target strategy and offers customized products and services to various enterprises. Dell Dell can be called a leader in technology for providing exceptional PCs and a stanch commitment to its customers. As a top technology company, it follows long term growth strategy. It was among the very few companies that provided their customers with customized laptops. Dell believes in establishing a very strong bond with its consumers by providing best products and services and this makes them stand out in other companies. They have a global strategy and have segmented themselves on the basis of psychographics and demographics factors. Tech savvy people, professionals and executives are their target market. Apple Apple is one of those companies that has not just earned huge revenue but also changed the game in their niches. They have revolutionized technology and the electronic gadgets like smart phones, laptops, and iPod’s e.t.c by evolving continuously. They claim not to sell products but ideas making lives of people easier in a way not thought before. This notion has attracted millions of users who are ready to be their loyal customers throughout their lives. Talking about the market that Apple targets can be divided into three segments that are described below: 1. People who love music are targeted by “Apple Ipod and Itunes” 2. Professionals and teenager are targeted by Apple Iphone, laptops, tablets, Mac book irrespective of their ages. 3. Lastly, people who are attracted towards Apple Iwatch, TV e.t.c.

Based on the technical analysis of all three IT companies (Dell, HP and Apple), we can clearly state their marketing approach and target market. Apple among other two companies keeps itself exclusive by targeting specific personalities in a specific class. Mostly, they target IT savvy personalities who are ready to pay any price for new and efficient machinery introduced in the IT world. On the other hand, Dell and Hp targets middle class and students who cannot afford expensive products. Moreover, they have targeted retail and corporate customers. Hp and Dell products are mostly used at the places where the use is extensive and by many people like in offices and educational institutes’ e.t.c. Unlike Apple they have not just targeted specific personalities and class but a general public as a whole and this gives them a competitive edge over competitors. Apple due to its exclusiveness gain huge revenues so they don’t have to change their market strategy to compete with other hulks....
