AUTOBIOGRAPHY (Transformative Life Event) The one incident happened when I was 19 years old! I live in India, which is the second most populous country in the world. Here, its parents’ obligation to take care of financial needs of their offspring until one finds a suitable job relevant to their career path, so that they can meet their expenses on their own. My father was the sole bread earner of the family, as my mother is a house-wife. I have two younger sisters; he was facing financial challenges supporting three children at once. My siblings were also studying, and I was the elder one in the mid of the graduation degree. In those times, girls were not allowed to work, because of the conservative thinking of the smaller cities. However, my parents allowed me and asked me to find some work on part-time basis to support my personal expenses, and if feasible my tuition fees as well. I completed 1.5 years of my graduation in Life Science, was able to get excellent grades along with doing part-time work in a Biology laboratory as a receptionist. The practical exposure, which I had through working in a biological atmosphere helped me to get into the good books of my professors and peers. I earned around 100 dollars per month, with which I could only cover my personal expenses. After my father’s directive, I got a job in the zoology research laboratory with a pay of $200/month. I did college in the morning and then a nightshift job. This job not only gave me much needed money, but also brought a radical change in my personality. I made loads of new friends, became habitual to spend large sum of money on eat-outs, shopping, gadgets. My focus changed from studying hard to get a job with descent pay in a good career to making more money by just doing random jobs. My grades started going downhill. I started thinking to leave the studies altogether and going to full-time work. My parents did not support my idea and I had a bitter argument with them. So, I left home in search of jobs and stayed at my friend’s house. But I was not able to get a job because I did not qualify the interviews. At last, I was kicked out of my friend’s house. I introspected last months of my life, and I was feeling suicidal with a part of saying to me that I am good for nothing. Finally, I decided to go back home and continue my studies. My life has changed, I have changed; my expectation, ambitions have changed, thereby, changing me as a person altogether. Now, my only goal is to keep my family happy and be worthy of their sacrifices....
