difference between electric and magnetic circuit...
Differences between electric circuit and magnetic circuit Electric circuit:Actual flow of electrons in an Electric circuit Presence of good insulators so that current can flow in a defined path. The conductivity is independent of current density within an normal operating range. Flow of current involves continuous expenditure of energy Magnetic circuit:No flow as magnetic flux lines are imaginary. No good magnetic insulator to confine all the magnetic flux lines. In ferromagnetic materials, permeability varies widely with flux density. Here, energy is required only to produce magnetic flux and no energy is required to maintain it. Leakage flux:The flux that does not follow the intended path partly in the magnetic circuit and partly in air is known as leakage flux. The total magnetic flux is the sum of useful flux and leakage flux.
Define fringing:When the flux lines cross the air gap, they tend to bulge out. This effect is known as fringing. The effect of fringing is to make the effective gap area larger than that of the ring. The effective increase depends upon the length of the air gap and the gap is kept as small as possible so that reduction is mininmum....
