This famous document was drafted in the form of a testament that was addressed to his two brothers. The testament was written 25 years earlier in the village called Heiligenstadt in Vienna He wrote this when he had to face the fact that his deafness was progrssive and incurable Did the first line in the testament mean that Beethoven’s brothers thought badly of him? As hostile and stubborn? Beethoven tries to explain that he isn’t actual like that (^) and that he is in fact very gentle with goodwill Beethoven claims that senseless physicians cheated him and made his condition worse? Beethoven was miserable because he didn’t/couldn’t let others know that he was deaf and therefore couldn’t ask people to speak up. His condition caused people to misunderstand him He thought that his condition was a rapid change. I guess it progressed very quickly Did Beethoven write this thinking that he would die soon or was he planning to suicide?.. Why did he write this?...
